Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how ePuP uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use the ePuP marketplace.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files or pieces of information that may be stored on your browser or device when you visit a website.
Similar technologies may include local storage, session storage, pixels, software-development tools or other technologies that allow a website to remember information, maintain a session, protect an account or understand how a service is being used.
2. Why ePuP uses cookies
ePuP may use cookies and similar technologies where reasonably necessary to:
- keep users signed in;
- maintain secure sessions;
- protect accounts and prevent misuse;
- remember important preferences;
- support forms and marketplace functionality;
- protect against cross-site request forgery and similar attacks;
- help detect suspicious or fraudulent activity;
- measure and improve service performance where permitted;
- provide optional analytics or other non-essential functions where an appropriate legal basis and consent are available.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
Some cookies are required for ePuP to function securely and correctly.
These may include technologies used for:
- authentication and login sessions;
- security and fraud prevention;
- CSRF protection;
- load balancing or infrastructure;
- remembering privacy or cookie choices;
- providing features specifically requested by the user.
These technologies may be used without consent where applicable law allows them to be used because they are strictly necessary for the service requested by the user.
4. Functional cookies and preferences
ePuP may use functional technologies to remember choices or make the marketplace easier to use.
Examples may include remembering selected settings, interface preferences or other non-essential choices.
Where applicable law requires consent for a particular functional technology, it should not be activated until appropriate consent has been obtained.
5. Analytics and performance technologies
ePuP may use analytics or performance technologies to understand how the marketplace performs and how users interact with it.
Information collected may include matters such as page views, navigation paths, device or browser information, general usage patterns and technical performance.
Where these technologies are not strictly necessary and consent is required by applicable law, they should only be activated after consent has been obtained.
6. Advertising and marketing technologies
ePuP does not assume that advertising or behavioural tracking technologies are necessary for operation of the marketplace.
If ePuP introduces optional advertising, remarketing, personalisation or cross-site tracking technologies in the future, appropriate information and consent controls should be provided where required by law before those technologies are activated.
7. Third-party technologies
Some marketplace functions may rely on third-party service providers.
Depending on the feature being used, those providers may set or read cookies or similar technologies where necessary to provide their services.
Examples may include providers involved in:
- payment processing;
- account or identity verification;
- security or bot protection;
- communications;
- hosting or infrastructure;
- analytics, if enabled;
- other marketplace functionality.
Third-party providers may have their own privacy and cookie notices explaining how their technologies operate.
8. Session and persistent cookies
Some cookies exist only for the duration of your browser session and are removed when the session ends.
Other cookies may remain on your device for a defined period so that a preference, security setting or other function can be remembered.
Retention periods vary depending on the purpose of the relevant cookie or technology.
9. Cookie consent
Where consent is legally required for a non-essential cookie or similar technology, ePuP should obtain that consent before the technology is used.
Consent should be freely given, specific, informed and capable of being withdrawn.
Refusing optional cookies should not prevent access to core marketplace functions that do not depend on those optional technologies.
10. Changing your cookie choices
Where ePuP provides a cookie-preference control, users can use it to review or change available non-essential cookie choices.
You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of ePuP from functioning correctly, including account login or secure sessions.
11. Browser controls
Most browsers allow users to:
- view stored cookies;
- delete cookies;
- block all or selected cookies;
- control third-party cookies;
- receive alerts before certain cookies are stored.
Browser controls differ between browsers and devices.
12. Security technologies
ePuP may use security technologies to protect the marketplace against automated abuse, malicious traffic, account takeover, fraud and other security threats.
Where those technologies are strictly necessary to provide a secure service, they may operate without optional-cookie consent where permitted by law.
13. Payment-related technologies
Where users purchase paid ePuP services, payment providers may use necessary technologies to process payments, prevent fraud, maintain payment security or comply with legal obligations.
ePuP does not use this policy to override the independent privacy or cookie obligations of a payment provider.
14. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy where technologies, marketplace features, legal requirements or our practices change.
The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently updated.
